Information from Shopify

When you install Price Patrol, we access the following data through Shopify's API:

  • Store information: Shop name, domain, currency, and plan
  • Product data: Product titles, prices, variants, and Shopify product IDs

We do not access customer data, order data, or payment information.

Information You Provide

  • Competitor URLs: URLs you add for price tracking
  • Notification settings: Email addresses, Discord webhook URLs, or Slack webhook URLs for alerts
  • Repricing rules: Pricing strategies and thresholds you configure

Automatically Collected Information

  • Competitor prices: Prices extracted from competitor product pages
  • Usage data: App interactions, feature usage, and error logs

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Track competitor prices on the URLs you provide
  • Send price change alerts via your chosen channels
  • Apply repricing rules to your Shopify products (when enabled)
  • Display price position rankings and analytics
  • Improve our services and fix bugs
  • Process billing through Shopify's billing system

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only with:

  • Shopify: Through their API for product data and billing
  • Web scraping service: Competitor URLs are sent to our price extraction service to retrieve prices
  • Email provider: Email addresses for sending alerts
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as the app is installed on your store. Price history data is retained according to your plan tier (7 days to unlimited). When you uninstall the app, we delete your data within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure database storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data (CSV export feature)
  • Uninstall the app at any time from Shopify
