Understanding Landed Cost

What landed cost includes

Landed cost is everything it takes to get a product to your door: product price, freight, duties and tariffs, insurance, and customs fees. Divided by units, it is your true per-unit cost — usually well above the supplier’s quoted price.

Why it matters for pricing

Pricing off the supplier invoice alone ignores 10-40% of real cost. Many sellers discover their bestseller is barely profitable once landed cost is included. Always price above landed cost, not product cost.

Landed cost and competition

Tariff and freight swings change your landed cost and therefore your price floor. Monitoring competitor prices alongside your landed cost tells you whether you can stay competitive or need to adjust sourcing.

Never Price Below Your True Cost

Price Patrol enforces price floors based on your real costs while monitoring competitors — so automated pricing never dips below landed cost.
